IHSA – Certificate of Recognition

IHSA – Certificate of Recognition (COR™)

The Certificate of Recognition (COR™) is nationally trademarked and endorsed by participating members of the Canadian Federation of Construction Safety Associations (CFCSA) of which the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA) is a member. It provides employers with an effective tool to assess their health and safety management system.

Aardvark – IHSA – Certificate of Recognition (COR™)

COR™ is aimed at driving positive workplace behaviour and practices that lead to improved performance. It is currently being used across Canada and is a pre-qualification requirement for many contractors working in and out of the province and on public- and private-sector projects.

The COR™ program began in Alberta more than 20 years ago. The IHSA is the ‘Authority having Jurisdiction’ to grant COR™ in the province of Ontario. In achieving this national safety program accreditation in Ontario, IHSA is responsible to ensure that the COR™ standards are upheld. With one common audit instrument utilized across Canada, the national standard is clear: Minimum 65% in each element and an overall audit score of 80%.

By achieving COR™, Aardvark is able to demonstrate that our health and safety management system has been developed, implemented, and evaluated on an annual basis through comprehensive internal and external audits. COR™ has a 3rd party auditor verify what is in the safety policy is actually being upheld in the field. Aardvark’s workforce has always had a very strong safety culture and achieving COR™ speaks to our commitment to health and safety in the workplace.

COR is now frequently used as a pre-qualification and/or condition of contract by public and private project owners across Canada. Aardvark is certificate number 000266.
